"message machine"
written October 8th 1997, 9:10pm

two days from today
   i got a call
it started as a message from Geanie
   on my father's wall
      answering machine
i called Geanie
   she told me you were dead
      with a bullet to your head
i lost control
angry
  i cried
too late to ask why
   or why didn't you call
i miss you Paul
