http://www.MojoZone.org/Lauras.Graves/DogGrave.txt (c) 1999, Laura Cain Documents DogGrave.jpg This photo is from Helena, AK's largest Confederate cemetery. The cemetery itself was huge, a hundred, maybe two hundred acres. This picture was a long shot of some graves with a probably couple hundred year old pecan tree in the background. The tree really gives the feel of the eeriness of the place. It was very sprawled out with an obvious scar from a lightning strike down the middle. The entire cemetery was full of OLD Pecan trees. Some trees grew up through grave sites, causing the headstones to fall over and break. The bodies stayed buried, I believe (there was no evidence of any relocation. I don't think that trees even mess with the dead). The place was really breathtaking. The Civil War took more lives than ALL the major American wars combined (WW1, WW2, Vietnam, and Korea).
